Born January 20th 2024

Ready to go on/after March 16th 2024

3/11/2024 - Less than one week left! The time goes by so fast and they seem to grow even faster! They've entered a more playful, rambunctious stage and have a lot of energy to get out when we go outside. They've started to be more interested in me than their littermates (which is great for when they do go their separate ways). Crate training has been their biggest hurdle, LOTS of whining which is to be expected but we will try to get them passed that so they see their crate as their private, happy space. The couple of days before going home I will give them more alone time away from their mates and have them sleep in their individual areas to make the transition easier.  Tomorrow they will get their second round of vaccinations, then a deworming the the 14th. On go-home day we will give them fresh baths and apply the topical flea/tick/heartworm med (covers 30 days).

3/6/2024- Posting a bit late but pictures were taken on 3/2. This week the puppies have been really getting to explore outside, which I personally LOVE. They have so much space to play and run (and get very, very dirty which they are loving these days). They were dewormed again for their 6 week dewormer and since I'm posting late they also had their vet checks today which went perfect. These next weeks are all about getting prepared to leave us and learning how to be more independent i.e.- crate training, continuing potty training, working more specifically with the clicker, and learning how to follow when wearing a leash and collar. The puppies will typically progress at different speeds so I do my best to make sure everyone has a solid foundation of learning so you can continue with them at home. At this age it's really just helping them understand things on a basic level.

2/25/2024 - Big week for these little ones. They got their first baths Saturday evening and first set of vaccinations (Parvovirus & Distemper). They also got their first outdoor outing since the weather is so nice today (picture above is Lucky). They all have a full set of sharp teeth but luckily have only been using them for good so far. They are eating hard kibble quite nicely but still get access to mom on a set schedule so we can wean them off--Marvel is ready to hang up her mom-hat. We recently upgraded their living area to a pen in our dining room as we start to work on potty training and helping them understand the sights/sounds/smells of inside the home. Their nursery was much more private.

As they've developed I've been able to see some unique differences between each of the puppies personalities and overall likes/dislikes.

Madigan: She thoroughly enjoyed her bath like the little diva she is. She grunted in enjoyment the whole time I lathered the puppy shampoo on her and was super relaxed for the warm blow dry. She is very friendly and I believe will come out of her shell even more and be a really outgoing, social girl. She also has pretty long legs so I think she will be quite tall.

Clover: This one has been a hidden gem for me. Her photos have never done her justice in the past few weeks but after her bath she shined. She has very bright, lighter colored eyes (they will likely darken though) and extremely minimal white markings compared to current and previous puppies which I think gives her a unique edge. Personality-wise she is very independent and inquisitive.

Guinness: This guy is a cuddly one, he is always nudging in for cuddles and is very mellow. He enjoyed his bath but really surprised me when he found enjoyment in getting his face dried with the blow dryer (that's a first for me lol). We turn it down super low and don't blow right into their eyes/nose/ears but he's the first puppy I've ever had that almost had a smile on his face and enjoyed it.

Lucky: This girl is the life of the party, she's very adventurous and outgoing. She leads the others in playtime and is usually the first to greet me when I walk up to their pen. It's funny how their size during growth seems to have an affect on what their role is within the litter--Lucky has always been the heaviest of the puppies and is absolutely the most unapologetically confident one in the bunch.

2/17/2024 - Four weeks old to the day. Since I was two days late getting the 3 week pictures there hasn't been much of a difference between then and now. They definitely mature and grow daily and are starting to show their own unique personalities. Now would be about the time I take them outside to explore for the first time but the weather had different plans and gave us a couple inches of snow. Fingers crossed for some sun later this week! They will also get their first baths soon--timing on baths really just depends on how clean we can keep them and how good of a job mom does keeping the whelping area picked up. This litter has stayed shockingly clean so we've been lucky enough not to have to do that quite yet but it's about time now. At 5 weeks old we will do first vaccinations so long as everyone still looks nice and healthy. Then, at 6 weeks we will welcome visitors so please reach out if that's something you'd like to set up!

2/13/24 - Three weeks and a couple of days old. All of the puppies are walking and moving around really well. Their tiny teeth have erupted so we will introduce soft gruel and raw meaty bones. We've introduced the litter box (box of pine pellets/potty pads) to their whelping area so they can learn to not potty where they sleep, this is usually second nature for them. These days we're introducing new stimuli to their environment and bringing them into our home so they can have "field trips". Marvel is still doing great, she's a very active dog though so I can tell she's ready for them to be weaned in the coming weeks so she can go back to her normal lifestyle. Even still she's a great mom and they're all gaining weight really beautifully.

2/3/2024 - First Picture Day! In the last few days, one-by-one the puppies began opening their eyes for the first time. All puppies are born both deaf and with their eyes sealed closed so this is a big milestone for them and brings in a lot of new stimuli. We've been doing their early neurological stimulation from day 3 and will stop after day 16. After pictures they got another nail trim, were microchipped, and received their first deworming. Clover has the thinnest blaze down her face but has extremely long, cute whiskers; Madigan has the tiniest swiss-kiss marking on the back of her head (it's truly only like 10 hairs worth of white lol); Guinness has the most white on his feet & toes; and Lucky is currently the largest in the litter. All of their noses will continue to darken until fully black with possibly some cute freckles remaining around their muzzle.
